Billing & Insurance
At the Achilles Neurology Clinic, we understand the importance of clear and transparent billing practices, as well as the need for accessible, high-quality neurological care. Our goal is to ensure you have a stress-free experience when it comes to understanding and managing your financial responsibilities.
Below, you’ll find detailed information about our in-network and out-of-network policies, self-pay options, and flexible payment plans. Our goal is to make navigating billing as simple and stress-free as possible, so you can focus on your health and well-being.
Please review the following details to learn which plans we accept in-network, how out-of-network coverage works, and how we handle self-pay options.
Billing Policies
Our billing process is designed to be straightforward and transparent, giving you a clear breakdown of the charges associated with your neurological care.
Before each appointment, we provide a cost estimate based on your insurance benefits or our out-of-network and self-pay rates. We kindly require all patients to pay in full at the time of service.
We currently only accept original Medicare, but as non-participating providers. This means that we accept medicare approved rates for our services, but you’ll be asked to pay for your appointment in full at the time of service. All other insurances are handled as out-of-network.
For Medicare patients, we will submit the claim on your behalf and you should receive any applicable reimbursement directly from Medicare or your secondary insurance, if you have one.
For out-of-network patients, we will provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement, based on your plan’s out-of-network benefits.
Please note that reimbursement rates vary, so we encourage you to contact your insurance provider to verify what portion of your care may be covered.
Our dedicated billing team is always available to address your questions or concerns, ensuring you have the information you need to manage your healthcare expenses with confidence.

In-Network & Out-of-Network Plans
Understanding whether your insurance plan is in-network or out-of-network is essential for predicting your costs and reimbursement. Below is a quick overview of our current policy.
In-Network
Medicare: We accept original Medicare, but as non-participating providers. This means that we adhere to medicare approved rates for our services, but you will now be asked to pay in full at the time of service. You will then be reimbursed directly from medicare or your secondary insurance, if you have any. The claim will be submitted to Medicare by us to make your experience as smooth as possible.
Out-of-Network
All Other Insurance Plans: For commercial PPOs, HMOs, EPOs, or any other private insurance, we are out-of-network. We will provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your carrier for reimbursement according to your out of network benefits. Since individual plan benefits vary, we encourage you to contact your insurer in advance to understand your coverage.
Self-Pay Options
If you prefer not to use insurance or do not have insurance coverage, we offer a self-pay option for both in-person and telehealth visits. Our pricing is competitive, and we are happy to discuss estimated costs for your specific services or procedures. For more information on our current self-pay rates and any special packages we offer, please contact our office directly.
Payment Plans & Financial Assistance
We recognize that healthcare expenses can be a concern and are committed to making our services as accessible as possible. For patients who need additional flexibility, we offer:
- Pay-Later or Pay-in-Installments: In partnership with payment providers (like Affirm or Klarna), you can spread out the cost of your visits over multiple installments. This helps reduce the upfront financial burden.
- Financial Assistance: If you’re experiencing economic hardship, contact us to discuss flexible payment arrangements. We’ll work with you to find a plan that makes sense for your situation.
If you have any questions about your insurance coverage, the superbill process, or payment options, please reach out to us at the Achilles Neurology Clinic. We’re here to help you feel comfortable and confident about every aspect of your care.
