Appointments and access
How fast you can be seen, and what you need to get started.
Usually the same or next day. Send a request online with your preferred time at our Beverly Hills or Los Angeles office, or for a video visit anywhere in California, and the office confirms within 1 business day. If you need a time outside regular hours, call us and we will do our best to accommodate you.
No. You can request a visit directly with Dr. Ntranos, and no prior authorization is required. Because the practice is outside insurance networks, you are seen when you need care, not when an insurance plan allows it. If your primary care doctor wants to refer you, we are glad to coordinate with them.
No, not to be seen here. You can request a visit with Dr. Ntranos directly. An ambulatory referral to neurology is your doctor's order for an outpatient neurology consultation, and there is often a wait of months for one. If your doctor has already sent one, the office coordinates with them, and your consultation note goes back to that doctor when you ask.
Yes. New patients are usually seen the same or next day, and we prioritize people with suspected multiple sclerosis, neuroinflammation, or a new abnormal MRI who need an answer quickly.
No. Dr. Ntranos sees adults only. For a child or teenager, ask your pediatrician about a pediatric neurologist.
Common reasons include persistent or worsening headaches and migraines, numbness or tingling, weakness, dizziness or loss of balance, memory or concentration problems, vision changes, tremor, and abnormal findings on a brain or spine MRI. If you are unsure, a consultation is the right place to start, and we will tell you honestly whether neurological care is needed.
No. For a suspected stroke, a first seizure, or the worst headache of your life, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. We see non-emergency problems, usually the same or next day, and take over care after an emergency room visit.
Dr. Ntranos, every visit. There are no handoffs to physician assistants, nurse practitioners, or rotating residents, so the doctor who examined you is the one who follows your care.
You can cancel or reschedule online, by phone, or by texting the office at (310) 774-7025. Please give at least 24 hours of notice so the time can be offered to another patient. Late cancellations are subject to a fee.

Insurance and payment
Out-of-network, explained without the fine print.
We do not list fees online. Call or email and the office will tell you the fee for your visit and your payment options. Your visit fee is confirmed before you are charged. Payment is collected securely online before your visit.
Your time with Dr. Ntranos: your history, a neurological examination, a review of your records and test results, prescriptions, test orders and referrals, coordination with your other doctors, messages between visits, and a superbill for your insurer. The tests and medications themselves are billed separately, usually through your insurance.
We are an out-of-network, fee-for-service practice. You pay for the visit directly and receive a detailed superbill to submit to your insurer. Most PPO plans reimburse 50–80%, depending on out-of-network benefits and deductible. HSA and FSA funds can typically be used. Staying outside insurance networks is what makes prolonged visits and, usually, same or next-day access possible.
We are out-of-network for all commercial plans, including Blue Shield of California, Anthem Blue Cross, UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, and Cigna. However, your insurance may still cover any required treatment and testing, such as medications, MRIs, and blood tests. Regarding the visit, you would pay beforehand and then submit our superbill for reimbursement; most PPO plans reimburse 50–80%, depending on out-of-network benefits and deductible. HMO plans generally do not reimburse out-of-network visits.
Dr. Ntranos is a non-participating provider for original Medicare, which means you pay at the visit and Medicare, or your secondary insurance if you have one, pays its share back to you. We file the claim for you, and the fee never exceeds Medicare's limiting charge, the most a non-participating doctor may bill. Medicare Advantage plans are not accepted.

Payment plans through Klarna and Affirm are available, and HSA and FSA funds can typically be used. Tests and medications are billed separately, by the lab, imaging center or pharmacy that provides them.
In most cases, yes. Being out-of-network applies to the visit itself. Imaging, blood tests, medications, and infusions that we order are billed by the facility or pharmacy under your own plan. We recommend confirming coverage details with your insurer before scheduling a test.
Payment is collected securely online before your visit. You can pay by credit card, debit card, or Apple Pay. Payment plans through Klarna and Affirm are also available. If cost is a concern, contact the office to discuss payment options.
Insurance-based neurology runs on rushed visits and months-long waitlists. Practicing outside those networks lets Dr. Ntranos spend a full hour with each new patient, see patients usually the same or next day, and answer your messages himself between visits. And there is no membership; you pay per visit. Concierge neurology is not about exclusivity. It is about time.

Telehealth and locations
Two offices, and video visits anywhere in California.
Yes. Dr. Ntranos is licensed in California and sees patients by secure, HIPAA-compliant video anywhere in the state, including San Francisco and San Diego. Many new evaluations and most follow-ups work well by video, and we will tell you when an in-person exam is needed.
Our primary office is at 433 N Camden Dr, Suite 610, in Beverly Hills. We also see patients at 11620 Wilshire Blvd, Suite 600, in Los Angeles. Both offer in-person visits and telehealth.
See Dr. Ntranos at either office. Choose whichever office is closer, or a video visit if travel is the obstacle and your concern does not need a hands-on exam. We will tell you when an in-person examination is needed. Beverly Hills is at 433 N Camden Dr, Ste 610, and Los Angeles is at 11620 Wilshire Blvd, Ste 600, in West Los Angeles. Both offices see patients Monday to Friday between 1pm and 6pm, treat the same range of conditions, and either can be followed by video visits. The calendar shows which office has openings on a given day.

Yes. Patients across California see Dr. Ntranos by telehealth, and many travel to Beverly Hills for an in-person evaluation followed by video follow-ups. Under current licensing rules we are unable to treat patients located outside California.
English and Greek. Visits in either language are available in person and by telehealth.

Your visit
What to bring, what happens, and what you leave with.
A list of your current medications, and your records: imaging reports and the images themselves, recent lab results, and notes from other doctors. The fastest way to share them is to download them from your other doctors' patient portals and upload them through our secure upload page before the visit; or give us the doctors' or facilities' names and the dates of your visits, and the office will request them. A short timeline of your symptoms, or a headache or symptom diary, is especially helpful.
New-patient visits are 60 minutes. Dr. Ntranos takes your history without interruption, performs a full neurological examination, reviews any imaging with you, and explains what he is considering and why. You leave with a written plan, and e-prescriptions go to your pharmacy the same day.
Usually every one to three months, depending on your condition and treatment. Follow-up visits are 30 minutes, or 30 to 45 minutes for MS care, in person or by video.
Yes. Ask at any time and we will send a copy of your consultation note. Notes are also available through the patient portal, and we send a note to your referring doctor when you ask us to.
Within 1 business day. Send messages through the patient portal. They are not for emergencies: in an emergency, call 911.
Yes. Prescriptions are sent electronically to your local or mail-order pharmacy the same day. For infusions and other specialized therapies, we work with infusion centers in Beverly Hills and across California and coordinate the referral for you.
Yes. Second opinions on a diagnosis, an abnormal MRI, or a treatment plan are one of the most valuable things a longer visit makes possible. Bring your records and imaging and we will go through them together, then send you and your existing doctor a clear written assessment.

Testing and prescriptions
Imaging, labs, and procedures, and how each gets arranged.
We order the scan and refer you to a radiology facility near you from our network across California, then review the images with you directly rather than leaving the report in a portal. If you already have imaging, bring it and we will read it at your visit.
You receive a lab order that works at any Quest or Labcorp location, or you can have blood drawn at home through our partner GetLabs. We can also send specialized tests to Mayo Clinic, Washington University and Therapath if needed. Results are reviewed with you and the plan adjusted as needed.
If a spinal tap is needed to confirm or rule out a diagnosis, we arrange it at a partner imaging facility, where it is done under fluoroscopic guidance by an interventional radiologist, and we interpret the results with you. We use it only when the result will change the plan, and we explain what to expect beforehand.
Small fiber skin biopsy for neuropathy, home sleep studies, computerized neuropsychological testing done from home, and neurogenetic testing are all available through the practice, so most diagnostic workups do not require a hospital visit.

Multiple sclerosis care
Diagnosis, treatment, and second opinions from a fellowship-trained MS specialist.
Yes. Dr. Ntranos completed a fellowship in multiple sclerosis and demyelinating diseases at Mount Sinai and a research fellowship in neuroimmunology at Johns Hopkins. The MS clinic offers diagnosis, disease-modifying therapy, relapse care, and second opinions, in person in Beverly Hills and Los Angeles or by telehealth across California.
Relapsing and progressive multiple sclerosis, clinically isolated syndrome, neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD), MOG antibody disease (MOGAD), transverse myelitis, optic neuritis, and unexplained white matter lesions on MRI.
With a detailed history and examination, MRI of the brain and spine, and blood tests to rule out conditions that mimic MS. A lumbar puncture is added when it will help. Dr. Ntranos applies the McDonald criteria and explains exactly which criteria are met, so you understand the reasoning rather than just the label.
Yes, and it is one of the most common reasons patients come to the clinic. Bring your MRIs and prior records and Dr. Ntranos will review whether the diagnosis holds, whether your current therapy is the right one, and what the alternatives are.
Yes. Fatigue, cognitive changes, spasticity, bladder symptoms, pain, and mood are addressed alongside disease-modifying therapy, with an emphasis on evidence-based lifestyle measures that protect long-term brain health.
Look for a board-certified neurologist with fellowship training in MS, access to the full range of disease-modifying therapies, and enough time at each visit to review your imaging with you. Then read what patients say. Dr. Ntranos meets all three, and usually sees new MS patients the same or next day.

Dr. Achillefs Ntranos is board-certified in neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and a member of the American Academy of Neurology. He trained at the University of Athens Medical School, completed his neurology residency at Mount Sinai where he served as chief resident, followed by a fellowship in multiple sclerosis and demyelinating diseases, and held a postdoctoral research fellowship in neuroimmunology at Johns Hopkins.
